Job Title: Healthcare Assistant – Domiciliary Care

Location: Harrogate and surrounding areas

Reports to: Care Coordinator / Registered Manager

Job Purpose

To provide high-quality person-centred care and support to clients in their own homes, enabling them to maintain independence, dignity, and quality of life.

Main Duties and Responsibilities
  • Deliver personal care (washing, dressing, toileting, continence care).
  • Support with safe moving and handling.
  • Assist with medication administration in line with policies and procedures.
  • Prepare meals and support with nutrition and hydration.
  • Provide companionship and emotional support.
  • Carry out light household tasks to maintain a safe environment.
  • Accurately record care notes and report any concerns to the care team.
  • Respect confidentiality and promote equality, diversity, and inclusion at all times.
  • Travel between client homes (driving licence and access to own vehicle preferred).
Person Specification
Essential
  • Compassionate, caring, and reliable.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Willingness to undertake mandatory training.
  • Ability to work flexibly (including evenings, weekends, and bank holidays).
Desirable
  • Previous experience in care.
  • Full UK driving licence and access to own car.
  • NVQ/QCF Level 2 or 3 in Health and Social Care (or willingness to work towards it).
