A leading healthcare provider in Harleston is seeking a dedicated healthcare assistant to support clinical teams in delivering high-quality patient care. This role involves undertaking clinical and administrative tasks, promoting health awareness, and providing lifestyle advice to patients. Applicants should possess relevant qualifications, experience in healthcare environments, and strong communication skills.
Working under the direct supervision of the practice nurse/GPs and strictlyin accordance with practice guidelines and protocols, the healthcare assistantwill assist the practice clinical team in the provision and delivery ofprescribed programmes of patient care to include treatment, preventative care,screening and patient education. Thepost will also include some administrative duties.
Duties and responsibilities onceappropriate competencies have been signed off:
ECG recording
INR/Cholesterol point of care testing
Blood pressures
Simple wound care (as directed by practicenurse or GP)
Simple removal of sutures
Processing and management of laboratorysamples requested by GPs/nurses
Urinalysis
Sterilising, cleansing and maintenance ofsurgical equipment
Injections and vaccination under directionof PSD
Vaccine/cold chain storage, monitoring andrecording
Surgical equipment, consumables and vaccineordering, re-stocking and stock rotation
Clearing and re-stocking consulting rooms
Preparing and maintaining environments andequipment before, during and after patient care interventions, includingassisting GPs during the performance of minor operations
Assisting in the assessment andsurveillance of patients health and well-being
Undertaking specific clinical activitiesfor named patients that have been delegated and taught specifically in relationto that individual
Helping to raise awareness of health andwell-being and how it can be promoted
Provide lifestyle advice to patients making any necessary referralswithin the practice
Weight monitoring
Assisting with the collection andcollation of data on needs related to health and well-being
