We have an exciting opportunity for a Healthcare Assistant to join the Primary Care team at Gatwick Immigration Removal Centre (IRC). This is a crucial role within the healthcare team, making a real difference to patients, and delivering outstanding care. Gatwick IRC is a detention centre based on the grounds of Gatwick Airport.

Hours:
This is a full-time role, with healthcare being offered 24/7 to patients. Shifts are 07:00 - 19:30 and 19:00 - 07:30. The role involves working nights and weekends on a rota basis.

Salary:
This position is full time, you'll receive an annual salary of £30,684 per annum.

Candidates are required to have a legal right to work in the UK and due to the nature of the role, offers of employment will be subject to additional vetting and security checks.

What you'll be doing
As our new Healthcare Assistant, your responsibilities will vary. Some of your duties will include:

  • Support the full patient journey, from entry to discharge
  • Support the nursing and pharmacy teams within primary care health centres, as well as on wings and blocks
  • Provide outstanding quality-based care to all patients
  • Deliver personalised, non-judgmental care, based on patient feedback
  • Contribute to, and implement care packages, assist with health promotion, wellbeing, and clinics
