Job summary

A healthcare practice in Great Yarmouth is seeking a Healthcare Assistant to join their motivated team. The role involves supporting minor surgery clinics, ensuring clinical waste management, and maintaining cleanliness in clinical rooms. The ideal candidate should have GCSEs in English and Maths, be qualified in Phlebotomy, and possess experience working in a general practice. Job description

Assist Minor Surgery Clinics/Contraceptive Implant Clinics

Ensure specimens are labelled, bagged and ready for collection

Ensure clinical waste (incl sharps bins) collection runs smoothly, reporting any problems to the Nurse Practitioner

Ensure clinical rooms are kept clean and tidy, remove bins, dirty utensils/instruments Change bedrolls and curtains

Restocking of clinical areas and consulting rooms

Order of stocks and supplies as required

Use of appropriate Infection Control Procedures reporting any risks to the Nurse Practitioner as set out in the practice policy

Know basic first aid/resuscitation and be able to undertake initial actions as appropriate

Chaperoning

Patient Lisaon for QOF/Recalls and any other requests from colleagues (contacting patients to attend surgery)

Assist in seasonal/special projects as required e.g. Flu campaign/Shingles/Pneumonia

Attend and participate in practice meetings.

About us

Millwood Partnership have an exciting opportunity for a Healthcare Assistant to join our busy and friendly team. The Practice has 2 partners and 5 salaried GPs, a Nurse Practitioner team of 6, a nursing team of 6, a healthcare assistant team of 4 which are looking to expand to 5, a home visiting team, a pharmacy team, an admin team, a reception team and a management team. We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join us.
