Overview

We have an exciting opportunity for a Healthcare Assistant to join our Primary Care team at HMP Thameside, a category B prison located in London. HMP Thameside is a male prison based in North London with capacity for 1,232 inmates. This role is working within inpatients.

This is a full-time position; you’ll receive an annual salary up to £31,017 per annum depending on experience.

Main duties of the job

As a Healthcare Assistant, your responsibilities will vary. You will:

  • Support the registered nurse in implementing an agreed plan of care in association with the patient and in accordance with instructions and training received whilst promoting safe patient care
  • Be willing to develop and apply new skills to maintain and enhance clinical service delivery

Qualifications and experience

Qualifications required

  • NVQ level 2/3 or equivalent in Health and Social Care
  • A non-judgemental and compassionate approach
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Good IT skills and IT literacy
  • Ability to work within a busy environment
  • Ability to work unsupervised whilst following policy and procedures

Although not essential, ideal applicants would have experience in a hospital, community or prison environment
