JOB TITLE

Healthcare Assistant

WORK PATTERN

Monday, Tuesday, Friday 12-5pm and Wednesday, Thursday 11-5pm.

HOURS PER WEEK

27 hours per week, flexibility requested to cover sickness and annual leave.

RATE OF PAY

Competitive salary depending on experience

REPORTS TO

Nurse manager/Practice manager

Job Summary

To assist medical personnel in the care of Practice patients, including treatment, preventative care, screening, and patient education. The role involves some administrative duties. A uniform (tunic) will be supplied and must be worn at all times.

Duties and Responsibilities
  1. Nursing tasks such as new patient registration, NHS Health Checks, ECG, BP monitoring, Urinalysis, Phlebotomy, and assisting with vaccination programs.
  2. Providing lifestyle advice, making referrals, weight monitoring, spirometry, and ensuring smooth clinical waste collection and sharps bin management.
  3. Restocking and maintenance of equipment and clinical areas.
  4. Administrative responsibilities including updating patient records, managing appointment systems, creating recall letters, and supporting practice projects.
  5. Managing medical records and ensuring accurate documentation.
  6. Driving may be required for home visits; a full, clean driving license is necessary.
Special Requirements

Understanding and adherence to confidentiality, ability to work independently, basic computer skills, flexibility, excellent communication skills, and a full driving license for home visits.
