A healthcare provider in Burnley is seeking an experienced Healthcare Assistant for a part-time role of 22.5 hours per week. The ideal candidate will have NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care and experience in General Practice. Responsibilities include assisting in patient health checks, managing emergency equipment, and ensuring practice cleanliness. We are looking for an experienced Healthcare Assistant to join our highly committed team for 22.5 hours per week. Key duties will include venepuncture, blood pressure recording, health checks,spirometry, diabetic foot checks and ECGs. The candidate will need good communication skills and the ability to work under pressure.

Duties and responsibilities of the role:
NHS Health Checks
New patient health checks
ECG recording
Urinalysis and specimen processing
Blood pressure recording
B12, Flu, Pneumococcal, Shingles vaccinations
Defib and emergency equipment checks
NOAC/DMARD Monitoring
Weight management
Sterilising, cleansing and maintenance of surgical equipment
Vaccine/cold chain storage, monitoring and recording
Surgical equipment and vaccine re-stocking, stock rotation and control
Clearing and re-stocking consulting rooms
Preparing and maintaining environments and equipment before, during and after patient care interventions, including assisting GPs during the performance of minor operations

Briercliffe GP Surgery is run by Dr Jawaid Khan, Dr Mark Fuller,and Mr Methven Forbes. The Practice has around 8000 registered patients and has a multidisciplinary team comprising GPs, Paramedic, Nurses and Healthcare Assistants. The Practice is also host to medical students.

Working under the direct supervision of the GP Clinical Lead and strictly in accordance with specific practice guidelines and protocols, the healthcare assistant will assist the practice clinical team in the provision and delivery of prescribed programmes of patient care.
