Job description
Overview

Hours: This is a part-time position working 29.5 hours a week during term time. Working hours will be 8.00 am to 6.00 pm 3 days per week and 9.00 am to 12 noon every third Saturday. The closing date for this position will be Monday 13th October (8.00 am). Suitable candidates may be interviewed before the closing date and the school reserves the right to withdraw the position if an early appointment is made. Applicants are therefore encouraged to apply early. We are looking for an organised and empathetic Healthcare Assistant to support the school.

Responsibilities
  • To assist in the management and care of any unwell pupils in school and any pupils who sustain any injury whilst in school.
  • Support the Senior Nurse with ensuring every pupil who attends the Health Centre is appropriately assessed and appropriate treatment is actioned.
  • Actively promote health and wellbeing issues in school including supporting pupils with managing personal hygiene, sleep hygiene, mental health, healthy eating and exercise.
  • Ensure every boarder receives the most appropriate care, advocating on their behalf if necessary.
Qualifications
  • Previous experience of working with children.
  • Experience of working in a healthcare setting.
  • Excellent organisation and time management skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to liaise confidently and sensitively with pupils, parents and external providers.
  • Kind, empathetic and calm with a pupil-focused approach.
