Job summary

Somerset NHS Foundation Trust is seeking an experienced Health Care Support Assistant to join the inpatient wards at West Mendip Community Hospital. The unit is a 16-bed environment providing care to Rehabilitation, Palliative and End of Life patients and their families.

You will work within a large multidisciplinary team, delivering the fundamentals of care under nurse supervision and helping patients achieve shared goals.

• Experience as a health care support assistant or similar role.

Job description

We are looking to appoint an experienced health care support Assistant who is enthusiastic, motivated with a passion for caring to join our dedicated Team on the inpatient wards at West Mendip Community Hospital.

The unit is currently 16 bedded. Providing support and guidance to Rehabilitation patient as well as supporting the local community with social admissions and providing care and support to Palliative and End of Life patients and their families.

As a health care Assistant you will work as part of a large multidisciplinary team and will play a key role in delivering the fundamentals of care for patients under the supervision of a nurse, whilst supporting patients to achieve the shared goals. Individuals should be able to demonstrate excellent communication skills who are willing to learn and take on new challenges as the service develops.
