A prominent healthcare organization in Bolton is seeking a motivated Healthcare Assistant to support clinical staff and deliver high-quality patient care. We are looking for a motivated and caring Healthcare Assistant (HCA) to join our friendly GP Practice team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working with patients, supporting clinical staff, and contributing to high-quality patient care in primary care.
Carry out phlebotomy (taking bloods)
Measure and record blood pressure, pulse, height, weight, and BMI
Perform ECGs
Administer flu vaccinations (training provided if required)
Undertake diabetic foot checks
Support delivery of NHS Health Checks and other screening programmes
Provide health promotion and lifestyle advice under guidance of clinicians
Accurately record information on the clinical system
Alastair Ross Medical Practice is a friendly and supportive GP surgery dedicated to providing high-quality care for our patients. We are located in a modern facility within Breithmet Health Centre, offering a welcoming environment for both patients and staff. We are a busy practice with a patient list size of approximately 7,000 patients, providing a varied and rewarding working environment.
Main responsibilities include:
Measuring and recording blood pressure, pulse, height, weight, and BMI
Performing ECGs
Administering flu vaccinations (training provided if required)
Diabetic foot checks
NHS Health Checks and other preventative health work
Supporting health promotion and lifestyle advice under guidance
Accurate documentation and use of clinical systems
What we are looking for:
Previous HCA experience in primary care or another healthcare setting is desirable
Trained and confident in phlebotomy (essential)
Competent in BP monitoring, ECGs, and basic observations
Excellent communication skills and a compassionate approach
Team player with the ability to work independently when needed
Commitment to confidentiality and safe clinical practice
