The main duties of this role are to support the clinical team in delivering nursing services by assisting in the provision of treatment, preventative care, health promotion, and patient education.

Job Responsibilities

The core responsibilities for this role include, but are not limited to:

1. Undertake Phlebotomy Clinics
2. Undertake health checks, including NHS health checks
3. Support the clinical team with health promotion programmes
4. Carry out baseline observations such as pulse oximetry, blood pressure, temperature, pulse rate, recording findings accurately
5. Facilitate routine and 24-hour BP monitoring, advising patients accordingly
6. When trained, undertake wound care, dressings, and other clinical tasks as required
7. Support the clinical team with the management of chronic disease clinics
8. Carry out BMI checks as directed
9. Act as a chaperone as required
10. Administer B12, Flu, and other appropriately tasked vaccinations
11. Undertake Smoking cessation clinics
12. Support long-term conditions
13. Carry out ECGs as requested
14. Ensure specimens are recorded and ready for onward transportation
15. Provide support during minor operations as required
16. Support with ensuring all clinical rooms are adequately stocked and prepared for each session
17. Ensure fridges are cleaned routinely in accordance with extant guidance
18. Ensure clinical waste is removed from clinical areas and sharps bins replaced in accordance with the practice IPC policy
19. Deliver opportunistic health promotion where appropriate
