Main duties of the job

Main Duties And Responsibilities

Complete all essential training.

Be an effective part of the multi-disciplinary team, assisting in the preparation, clearing and cleaning of the equipment ready for use.

Assist the registered practitioners with the delivery of high quality care in the perioperative setting.

Maintain patients privacy and dignity at all times and provide care in a compassionate and sensitive manner.

Assist your fellow practitioners with delegated clinical tasks.

Provide support to the surgical colleagues when preparing and delivering anaesthetic and surgical procedures.

Prepare and provide the surgical instruments and any supplementary items for surgery.

Prepare the clinical environment for anaesthetic and surgical procedures.

Positioning of patients for their specific procedure with consideration of pressure area care and patient comfort and dignity.

Assist with safe moving and handling of patients following trust guidelines.

Escorting and transferring patients between departments ensuring privacy and dignity is maintained.

We have a centre for planned care in Bishop Auckland and provide care from community hospitals in Chester-le-Street, Shotley Bridge, Barnard Castle, Sedgefield and Weardale as well as over 80 other community based settings and providing care in patients' homes.
