Job responsibilities

To assist in the assessment, treatment care for patientspresenting in the practice

Clinically examine and assess patient needs from aphysiological and psychological perspective, and plan clinical careaccordingly

To assist in the assessment, treatment care for patientswith complex needs

Assist with proactively identifying the development ofsome long-term conditions (as appropriate)

Assist practice nurses with management of both acute andchronic conditions,

Support patients to adopt health promotion strategies thatpromote healthy lifestyles, and apply principles of self-care

Implement and participate in flu vaccinations and B12 Injectionprogrammes

Meet the needs of patients presenting for opportunisticwound care

Assist in minor surgery as appropriate to level ofcompetency

Undertake record and followguidelines for the tasks for which you have received appropriate training.

Measuringand recording blood pressure, pulse rate and rhythm, temperature, height andweight, body mass index, peak flow and its calculation

PerformECGs

PerformVenepuncture.

Prepareand maintain environments and equipment before, during and after patient careinterventions.

Ensureclinical area and clinical treatment rooms are clean and well stocked.

Undertakedressing procedures following local recommendations, complying with infectioncontrol principles and practice.

Person Specification
Qualifications
  • Minimum GCSE grade C or above in English and Maths (or equivalent)
  • *NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Health and Social Care (or equivalent)
  • *RCGP HCA Competency, Care certificate
Experience
  • Experienced working to protocols and clinical guidelines
  • Experience of independent and team working
