Job description

Location: Remote based

We are looking for a Healthcare Advisor to join our Helpline Team to provide personalised support to our beneficiaries, their families, and carers. This role will help them take control of their wellbeing, live independently, and improve their health outcomes.

Asthma + Lung UK is the only charity in the UK fighting for everyone with a lung condition. We aim for a world where everyone can breathe with healthy lungs. We fund cutting-edge research, provide advice and support for the 12 million people who will get a lung condition during their lifetime, and campaign for clean air and better NHS diagnosis and treatment.

Reporting to the Healthcare Advisor Manager, you will provide holistic general advice on lung conditions, welfare benefits, smoking cessation, and more, based on individual needs within the role's remit.

You should have excellent customer service skills, the ability to communicate effectively over the telephone and digital channels, and demonstrate empathy, discretion, and diplomacy. Experience working within a helpline environment and the ability to assess callers' needs are essential. There will be competency-based training initially and over the first six months, which must be completed to perform all duties to the required standard.

Benefits include a competitive salary, 30 days annual leave (plus bank holidays), membership of a health cash plan, employee assistance programme, cycle-to-work scheme, interest-free annual season Travelcard loan, and pension scheme. This is a fantastic opportunity to join an organization dedicated to transforming lung health.
