Overview

A Vacancy at Nottinghamshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust. An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated and enthusiastic Specialist Public Health Practitioner (Health Visitor) to join our Integrated Healthy Families Team within the Bassetlaw Locality. Bassetlaw Healthy Family Team provides a quality service delivering the Healthy Child Programme to the local population. We are an integrated service, working with children and young people aged 0 – 19 and their families. Care will be delivered in line with National and Local guidelines and public health priorities.

Responsibilities
  • You will work as part of a team to deliver universal and targeted health services to the 0-19 year population and will be responsible for the day to day leadership of a defined caseload, managing and supporting a skill mix team.
  • You will be expected to develop excellent partnership working relationships in order to provide seamless services to Children, Young people and their families.
  • The role includes services to antenatal women, completion of the Healthy Child Programme for under 5s, enhanced programmes of care within school and community settings for the 5-19 age group, breastfeeding support, and a strong element of leadership to the skill mix 0-19 cluster team.
Requirements / Qualifications
  • Possess the Specialist Community Public Health Nursing (Health Visitor) qualification.
  • Excellent communication skills and a desire to develop leadership and management skills.
  • A full UK driving licence and vehicle for business use is required for this post; reasonable adjustments will be made for disabled individuals in line with the Equality Act 2010.

Please note applicants will be required to pay for their DBS check. Costs are deducted from salary following appointment. The DBS application cost is £26.40 (standard) or £54.40 (enhanced), deducted from your salary over the first 2 months of employment. You are encouraged to enrol for the DBS Update Service. An annual fee of £16 per year applies.
