Job summary

Aneurin Bevan University Health Board is seeking an experienced SCPHN-qualified Health Visitor to deliver universal, targeted and intensive outreach to families with preschool children in Newport. The role operates within a multidisciplinary team across Gwent to provide safe, evidence-based care.

Welsh is desirable but not required; applicants with Welsh language ability are welcomed. The post supports flexible working and NHS learning opportunities within the health visiting service.

Qualifications

• SCPHN qualification is essential.
• Experience delivering Health Visiting and HCWP.
• Experience with safeguarding and vulnerable families.
• Ability to travel between sites and visits as required.
• Welsh language skills are desirable but not required.

Responsibilities

• Provide universal, enhanced and intensive health visiting to children and families on the caseload, from all cultural backgrounds.
• Deliver the Early Years Health Visiting programme to families in City of Newport.
• Work as part of a team across locally defined areas, supporting the service across Gwent.
• Work in partnership with parents and carers and with services such as early years, primary care, children''s services and school nursing.
• Contribute to the development of new projects and policies within the health visiting service.
• Take part in the research, implementation and evaluation of evidence-based practice.
• Provide a safe service for all preschool children and their families.
