Job description

Are you an empathetic and knowledgeable Health & Social Care Teacher passionate about preparing students for vital roles in care? We're looking for a temporary, full-time teacher to join our Outstanding mixed school in Haringey, starting this June. This is a crucial opportunity to equip students with essential knowledge and skills in health, social care, and early years contexts across Key Stage 4 (aged 14-16) and potentially Key Stage 5, right here in North London.

What you'll be doing:

  • You'll be designing and delivering engaging Health & Social Care lessons, covering topics like human growth and development, health and well-being, and social care services.
  • It's about fostering students' understanding of diverse care settings, ethical considerations, and the professional responsibilities within the care sector.
  • You'll cultivate a nurturing and informative classroom environment where students feel empowered to explore real-world issues and develop their understanding of care provision.

What we're looking for:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent with a specialism in Health & Social Care or a closely related field.
  • Ideally, you'll have some experience teaching engaging and effective Health & Social Care lessons at Key Stage 4 (and potentially Key Stage 5).
  • A deep and current understanding of the subject curriculum and relevant care practices is essential.
  • Excellent communication skills, strong classroom management, and a knack for facilitating sensitive discussions.
