Health, Safety & Wellbeing Advisor (Manchester)

Join to apply for the Health, Safety & Wellbeing Advisor (Manchester) role at CAF (Construcciones y Auxiliar de Ferrocarriles)

Support CAF’s HSQE Manager by delivering comprehensive, legislatively compliant HS&W services within the UK Subsidiary of Rail Services. This role involves supporting organizational governance, implementing and reviewing Health & Safety frameworks, risk management, and certification programs. You will need to be proactive and capable of multi-tasking in a highly regulated environment.

Your daily duties will include:

  1. Supporting the HSQE Manager in delivering HS&W support services aligned with organizational needs.
  2. Planning and supporting activities to maintain certifications like ISO45001, Sentinal.
  3. Leading the implementation of CAF’s risk management framework across business areas.
  4. Supporting policy implementation, stakeholder training, and resource provision for compliance.
  5. Managing health surveillance programs and fatigue management frameworks.
  6. Developing and implementing health and wellbeing programs, tracking their impact.
  7. Participating in governance structures and leading HSQE meetings.
  8. Collaborating with HRBPs on health & safety matters respecting collective bargaining agreements and legislation.

The successful candidate will have:

  • A NEBOSH General Certificate (minimum).
  • Relevant qualifications supporting ISO standards auditing.
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical skills, and attention to detail.
  • Ability to influence stakeholders and support HS&W initiatives.
  • Experience supporting process implementation, policy development, and compliance governance.
  • Excellent organizational skills for managing complex workloads.
  • English language proficiency; Spanish knowledge is beneficial but not essential.

The role offers a salary of £45,000 per annum, as a Real Living Wage Employer, with benefits including 25 days annual leave, pension scheme, health care cash plan, Bike2Work, and opportunities for career development and flexible working.
