What will be your role in the company?

The HS&W Advisor supports CAF’s HSQE Manager, delivering a range of comprehensive and legislatively / regulatory compliant HS&W services within the UK Subsidiary of Rail Services. This wide-ranging role provides a broad and varied degree of support across areas such as organisational governance, implementing, monitoring, and reviewing Health & Safety frameworks, risk management principles and certification programs. Supporting stakeholders across the business with the breadth of activities requires a proactive multi-tasker who is adept at delivering in a highly regulated environment.

Your daily duties will include:

  • Support the HSQE Manager to deliver a comprehensive support service to meet the ever- evolving needs of the organisation related to Health, Safety and wellbeing needs.
  • Plan, Support, deliver the program of actions and activities to maintain current and agreed certifications are obtained in line with business objectives.
  • Deliver robust compliance to CAF certifications such as ISO45001, Sentinal.
  • Lead the implementation of CAF’s risk management framework within the assigned areas of the business ensuring all stakeholders have the necessary tools, training and support required to manage identified risks.
  • Support the HSQE Manager with the implementation of the relevant policies, procedures and controls ensuring that all assigned stakeholders have the necessary training, resources and understanding regarding their responsibilities in order ensure compliance to identified internal and external standards.
  • Support the implementation and ongoing management of a robust health surveillance program across the organisation including the organisation’s fatigue management framework.
  • Take a lead role in the continued development and implementation of a health and wellbeing programme in line with the organisation’s and individuals’ needs, tracking and recording its impact and success aimed at delivering benefit across the organisation.
  • Support assigned stakeholders in the implementation of the organisation’s governance structures and take a lead role in the HSQE led cross functional meeting via the Health & Safety Committee in line with the agreed terms of reference.
  • Partner with HRBPs on all Health & Safety matters in line with agreed Trade Union collective bargaining agreements and in line with appropriate legislation.

What salary will you be paid for this role?

As a Real Living Wage Employer, we are proud to pay competitively at CAF. For this role you will be offered a salary of £45,000 per annum.

What will make you successful in this position?

To succeed in this role you will need:

  • A NEBOSH General Certificate as a minimum Requirement.
  • An appropriate and relevant qualification supporting auditing of ISO standards.
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills showing clear attention to detail.
  • Demonstrable ability to recognise, evaluate and recommend controls
  • The ability to influence stakeholders across the business and engage them in HS& W initiatives and activities
  • Proven experience in engaging with and supporting a broad and varied rage of stakeholders with the implementation of processes, policies, frameworks and controls and governing compliance in relation to them.
  • Highly organised with a strong ability to plan complex and ever evolving workloads
  • Language: English. A knowledge of Spanish would be beneficial but not essential.
