Job Description

  • Interfaces with field staff and management to determine safety support needs, and delivers on the same.
  • Manages, develops, implements, and enforces Aqua's safety program.
  • Works with local and corporate stakeholders to develop, implement, and update effective Standard operating procedures and policies.
  • Investigates injuries and incidents and interfaces using Aqua practices and procedures.
  • Interprets technical and regulatory information to provide guidance to operations staff.
  • Serves as a subject matter expert (SME) to explain Aqua policies and procedures and safety/risk management concepts and practices
  • Be an active member on the PA safety committee.
  • Prepare and manage operational and capital safety budgets.
  • Conduct safety audits and field inspections and document findings and assign follow-up actions.
  • Initiate changes to safety program for continuous improvement.
  • Establish and maintain safety training programs and records of completion.
  • Manage safety equipment needs for required inspection or replacement frequencies.
  • Implement and manage Right to Know requirements for Hazardous materials
  • Investigate and evaluate new safety equipment for appropriateness.
  • Administer procurement and distribution of safety PPE and tools.
  • Manage safety vendors and or consultants.
  • Respond and support safety for emergency situations.
  • Participate in the review of engineering designs and construction projects with a focus on general workplace safety, ergonomics, hazard identification (labeling), parking/maneuverability.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
