Job description

Health and Safety / Regulatory Lawyer

Locations: Birmingham, Manchester, Leeds

Brief:

We are seeking a health and safety / regulatory lawyer with criminal regulatory defence experience to join our Health & Safety and Regulatory Risk Advisory team in Birmingham, Manchester, or Leeds.

The ideal candidate will have 2 to 6 years of post-qualification experience, offering an excellent opportunity for career growth within a friendly, collaborative environment.

The role involves providing contentious and non-contentious advice to clients on health and safety, corporate/gross negligence manslaughter (including fire safety, building safety, and Coroner’s inquests), and other regulatory law areas such as environmental law, food safety, product safety, and trading law post-Brexit.

Relevant experience in a City firm or large regional practice, especially in criminal regulatory defence, health and safety, environmental, food safety, or trading law, is preferred. Experience with public inquiries is a plus.

Applicants should have a strong academic background, excellent communication and organizational skills, commercial awareness, and enthusiasm for business development. Willingness to travel nationally is required, and candidates should specify their preferred office location(s) when applying.

This is an exceptional opportunity to join a national team handling high-profile cases involving workplace incidents, investigations, prosecutions, and public inquiries. The team works closely with partners in England and across the UK, including Kevin Bridges, Zoe Betts, and Sean Elson, who are recognized leaders in this field.

Applicants should be prepared for travel to other offices and client sites as needed. We look forward to your application.
