Health & Safety Officer – West Region (based in Newbury)

Salary: £40,000 – £45,000 per annum + car allowance

Region Covered: Oxfordshire, M3 Corridor, Southampton, Plymouth

Role Overview:
Reporting directly to the Group H&S Manager, the Health & Safety Officer will be the boots-on-the-ground lead for the West Region. This role involves conducting site audits, delivering toolbox talks, performing risk assessments, and engaging operatives to promote a proactive safety culture.

Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive site audits to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Deliver engaging and informative toolbox talks to operatives.
- Perform detailed risk assessments and implement corrective actions.
- Engage with operatives to upskill and promote a proactive safety culture.
- Travel across the region, covering Oxfordshire, the M3 Corridor, Southampton, and Plymouth as required.

Skills & Experience Required:
- Proven experience in a health and safety role, ideally within social housing or planned maintenance.
- Strong background in supporting operational teams in a field-based environment.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage and educate operatives.
- Comfortable with extensive travel across a large region.
