One of the UK's leading providers of industrial forecourt equipment is seeking someone with suitable experience & NEBOSH qualification to join their Health & Safety team.
Job Purpose
Responsible for planning, implementing, and overseeing the company's employee safety at work programme, helping to drive and maintain a safety-first culture across all levels.
Ensuring the company adheres to all Health and Safety Legislation and guidelines by coordinating and driving health and safety activities.
Collaborating with and obtaining buy-in from all levels when producing or amending all company health and safety documentation by building and maintaining key relationships at senior level.
Responsibilities
- Maintain and improve the Health and Safety System, create reports, and assign corrective actions ensuring compliance.
- Update and maintain the corrective action log; analyze and report on trends in non-conformities.
- Compile and review the risk assessment database; follow up with site managers as needed.
- Carry out inductions and onboard new employees and workers onto training systems and safe working procedures, maintaining records.
- Administer and maintain the company hazard reporting system, follow up on corrective actions, and analyze trends.
- Organize, attend, and record minutes of all Health and Safety Committee Meetings.
- Conduct regular site safety walkarounds & inspections involving line managers, sharing findings with relevant Departmental Managers.
- Manage the availability of Safety PPE stocks, create POs, liaising with suppliers/contractors.
- Ensure completion and implementation of actions from all H&S audits, both internal and external.
- Maintain all third-party accreditations and certifications, including BS EN ISO 14001, BS EN ISO 45001, and BS EN ISO 50001.
- Build relationships with management to become a trusted safety partner.
- Support management in safety strategies and policy updates.
- Distribute, collate, and review staff DSE Assessments, ensuring timely completion and implementation of control measures.
- Work with External Health and Safety Consultants to support safe operational procedures.
- Manage online e-learning with HR and maintain the Company Training Matrix.
- Arrange relevant training courses and carry out health and safety inductions for new starters.
- Maintain records of inspections, risk assessments, safety analyses, training, incidents, and accidents.
- Produce statistics and implement corrective/preventive actions.
- Prepare regular board reports on H & S aspects of the business.
- Prequalify Subcontractors & maintain the matrix.
- Undertake weekly fire safety checks, maintain registers, and coordinate annual fire evacuations.
- Maintain accreditation memberships and complete client prequalification questionnaires.
- Coordinate & maintain register of PPM / statutory inspections / calibration.
