Job summary

GXO Logistics, Inc. is seeking a Health & Safety Officer for the Scotland Gateway contract at Bellshill. The role drives a strong safety culture, maintains high compliance, and coordinates facilities activities to keep the site safe and efficient.

The position is full-time and permanent, with Monday–Friday 9am–5pm. NEBOSH certification and robust stakeholder management are essential. The company offers a comprehensive benefits package and pension.

Qualifications

• Experience in Health & Safety and/or Facilities Management within logistics/warehousing/operational environments.
• NEBOSH Certificate (or working towards qualification).
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience coordinating contractors, services or site support activities.
• Good organisational, administrative and IT skills.
• Proactive approach with the ability to influence and drive continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Support the implementation of HSSEQ policies and procedures.
• Promote a positive safety culture and support continuous improvement initiatives.
• Advise managers and employees on health and safety best practice, risk management and compliance requirements.
• Monitor and coordinate corrective actions arising from audits, inspections, incidents and risk assessments.
• Support site facilities management activities, ensuring a safe, compliant and well-maintained working environment.

Here at GXO, we are looking for an Health & Safety Officer to join our team on our Scotland Gateway contract at our Bellshill site. You’ll be at the heart of creating a safe, compliant and well‑managed working environment across our Defence site. Working closely with the H&S Sector Lead and local management team, you’ll help drive a strong safety culture, maintain high standards of compliance and coordinate facilities activities that keep the site operating safely and efficiently.

This is a full time, permanent position working Monday – Friday 9am – 5pm

What you’ll do on a typical day:

• Support the implementation of Health, Safety, Sustainability, Environment and Quality (HSSEQ) policies and procedures
• Promote a positive safety culture and support continuous improvement initiatives.
• Advise managers and employees on health and safety best practice, risk management and compliance requirements
• Monitor and coordinate corrective actions arising from audits, inspections, incidents and risk assessments
• Support site facilities management activities, ensuring a safe, compliant and well‑maintained working environment

What you need to succeed at GXO:
