We’re currently looking for a proactive, people-focused Health & Safety Advisor to help us drive this vision forward and make a real difference across our organisation.
This is a hybrid role, requiring on-site or office presence three days per week, with the flexibility to work from home the remaining two days. You’ll be travelling regularly across our sites in Hertfordshire, Bedfordshire, and Buckinghamshire.
A basic health and safety qualification is required for the role. We will support you to further your career in Health and Safety. We welcome applications from candidates looking for their next step in their careers.
Key Responsibilities:
Design and deliver an annual plan of engagement activities to support colleague wellbeing and safety
Support the development and implementation of policies that encourage positive health and safety behaviours and meet all regulatory requirements
Deliver and support health & safety training in partnership with the People & Culture Team
Ensure up-to-date risk assessments (including COSHH), PPE provision, and register maintenance
Conduct health, safety, facilities, and wellbeing inductions for all new starters
Prepare and present health & safety management reports, highlighting compliance and colleague sentiment
Engage and manage third-party providers to enhance health and safety services
Support our Fire Warden and First Aider network, ensuring they are fully trained and informed
Assist in investigating accidents, incidents, and near misses, and recommend corrective actions
Contribute to emergency planning and business continuity efforts, advising on improvements
Monitor the health & safety of internal and external contractors, including quality control and due diligence reporting
Requirements:
A proven track record of delivering critical objectives, or a strong foundation to grow into the full scope of the position.
Experience within a successful Health & Safety team is essential.
Demonstrates a basic understanding of Health & Safety principles, with a minimum of a basic Health & Safety qualification (IOSH Managing Safely or an equivalent entry-level qualification as a minimum requirement)
NEBOSH general certification would be beneficial however is not essential.
Solid time management and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence, collaborate and work calm under pressure.
Show that you can align with Thrives core behaviours, acting as a role model for all colleagues.
You will be required to be present at Thrive’s head office or on-site a minimum of 3 days per week, in line with business needs and responsibilities.
Due to the nature of the role, you will hold a Full driving licence for use in the UK and have access to a vehicle.
