Salary: Grade 6 SCP 19-24 Actual Salary £32,061 - £35,412
Term of Contract: Permanent
Working pattern: Full year (52.143 weeks per year)
Hours per week: Full time (37 hours per week)
Start date: January 2026

The St Teresa of Calcutta Academy Trust Central Team is seeking a proactive and knowledgeable Health & Safety Officer to join our Central Team. This is an exciting opportunity to join the Trust at the beginning of a journey of transition, development and growth within the multi-academy trust.

The successful candidate will play a key role in shaping and maintaining a safe, compliant and supportive environment across our schools and central office.

Reporting line: Health & Safety Manager

Responsibilities
  • Support the delivery of the Trust’s Health & Safety strategy
  • Conduct audits, inspections and risk assessments across multiple sites
  • Advise senior leaders on statutory compliance (e.g. COSHH, RIDDOR, Fire Safety)
  • Lead on accident investigations and emergency planning
  • Deliver engaging health & safety training to staff
  • Liaise with external agencies and contribute to capital projects from a safety perspective

This is a hands-on role requiring excellent communication, initiative and the ability to work independently across our Trust’s schools.

Qualifications and Requirements
  • Holds a NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent
  • Proven experience in a health and safety role, ideally within education or the public sector
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Confident delivering training and engaging with stakeholders at all levels
  • Full UK driving license and access to a vehicle
