Health & Safety Manager – M&E – Power Project, UK

Linum Consult’s client is a leading specialist in renewable and conventional energy infrastructure. Due to continued growth and a major upcoming project, they are urgently seeking a Health & Safety Manager with strong M&E experience to join their team on a high-profile power project based in Essex.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Leading all Health & Safety initiatives on a major M&E package for the Thurrock Power Station project
  • Developing and implementing HSE strategies in line with UK legislation and company policy
  • Monitoring and ensuring compliance with all site H&S procedures, particularly related to Mechanical & Electrical installation works
  • Conducting regular site inspections, audits, and risk assessments
  • Leading toolbox talks, safety briefings, and inductions
  • Liaising with contractors and stakeholders to maintain a strong safety culture on site
  • Reporting incidents and near misses, carrying out investigations, and recommending corrective actions

PROFILE

  • NEBOSH or equivalent Health & Safety qualification is essential
  • Proven experience working in an HSE role on large-scale power, energy, or infrastructure projects with a focus on M&E packages
  • Detailed understanding of UK Health & Safety legislation, particularly within construction and power sectors
  • Experience working within a principal contractor environment, ideally under CDM regulations
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to influence and educate teams
