Job description

JD Gyms Group is seeking a highly skilled and strategic Health and Safety Manager to join our team and ensure the highest standards of health and safety across our organisation.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Strategic Planning: Develop, implement, and continuously improve health and safety strategies aligned with organisational goals and industry best practices.
  • Policy Development: Create and enforce health and safety policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations.
  • Empowerment: Empower managers and colleagues with training, resources, and support to foster a safety-conscious culture throughout the organisation.
  • Compliance: Monitor and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, conducting regular audits and inspections across all gym facilities.
  • Incident Response: Develop and maintain effective incident response protocols, conducting thorough investigations and implementing corrective actions as needed.
  • Data Analysis: Analyse health and safety data to identify trends, areas for improvement, and opportunities to enhance the overall safety performance.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Collaborate with internal stakeholders, external agencies, and regulatory bodies to promote a positive safety image for the organisation.
  • Emergency Preparedness: Develop and maintain emergency response plans, ensuring all employees are trained and prepared to handle various emergency situations.
Requirements:
  • Qualified to NEBOSH Diploma level or equivalent.
  • Good experience in health and safety management in the fitness or leisure industry.
  • Proven track record in developing and implementing successful health and safety strategies in a national organisation.
  • Exceptional communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong IT skills.
  • A genuine enthusiasm and passion for Health and Safety and an ability to engage with colleagues at all levels.

The role will involve frequent travel within the UK.
