About the Role:
My client are seeking an experienced and motivated Health & Safety Manager to join their team. The role will be part of a dynamic team of two H&S Managers, reporting to the Construction Director. The H&S Manager will be responsible for overseeing approximately 10 sites. The sites vary in size and scope, and you will need to travel to these sites on a rotating basis to ensure the implementation and monitoring of H&S plans.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement tailored Health & Safety plans for each construction scheme.
- Monitor and review RAMS (Risk Assessments & Method Statements).
- Conduct O&M (Operation and Maintenance) handovers at the end of each scheme.
- Support training requirements, utilising the company's training portal to complete and assist with H&S training for site teams.
- Conduct site visits on a regular schedule: visiting sites periodically.
- Ensure all sites adhere to health and safety standards and regulations, reporting and addressing any concerns promptly.
- Maintain flexibility in managing your diary, ensuring visits align with the needs of the sites and construction timelines.
Requirements:
- Proven experience in a Health & Safety Management role, preferably within construction or similar industries.
- Strong understanding of H&S plans, RAMS, and O&M procedures.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple sites nationwide.
- Ability to travel frequently, with flexibility regarding site locations.
- Strong communication skills for liaising with site teams, contractors, and the senior management team.
- Ability to conduct and support H&S training for staff.
- A proactive and self-motivated approach to managing tasks and priorities.
- A relevant H&S qualification (e.g., NEBOSH) is highly desirable.
Location:
Candidates can be based in either West Yorkshire or Lancashire.
Hybrid working is available.
