Health & Safety and Facilities Manager

Hybrid role - 2 days a week visiting stores, 3 days a week working from home. 2 days a month at head office in Surrey.

We’re looking for a brilliant Health and Safety Manager with proven experience leading the delivery of the Health & Safety and Facilities strategy in a fast-paced, people-focused business. The ideal candidate should be proactive, hands-on, eager to take on new challenges, and make a real difference.

Leading a small team, this role is responsible for creating a safe and efficient working environment, ensuring compliance, risk mitigation, and wellbeing are prioritized.

Role Responsibilities
  • Provide expert advice on all areas of Health & Safety
  • Conduct fire risk assessments in line with regulations
  • Act as Senior First Aider and Fire Warden, conducting fire alarm tests and evacuation drills
  • Manage First Aiders and Fire Wardens across the business
  • Deliver and support risk assessments
  • Review and improve Health and Safety policies
  • Advise the Risk Committee on legislation implications
  • Partner with business leads on facilities/maintenance budgets
  • Ensure compliance with RIDDOR and investigate accidents
  • Manage maintenance issues and contractor relationships
  • Assist with security inspections at head office
  • Support budgeting and control department costs
  • Conduct H&S inductions for new colleagues
  • Contribute to business continuity planning
Candidate Requirements
  • Proven experience as a Health & Safety Manager, preferably in Retail, Leisure, or Hospitality
  • Qualified Fire Risk Assessor
  • Experience working with Local Authorities and Fire Officers
  • Strong commercial acumen and experience managing budgets
  • Knowledge of PPM and vendor management
  • Experience managing external suppliers and contractors
  • Hands-on results-oriented approach
  • Excellent communication skills and relationship-building ability
  • Resourceful with a proactive mindset
