Title: Health & Safety Manager (site based)

Location: Hinkley Point

Salary: GBP50,000 to GBP55,000 + benefits + accommodation (if required)

Sector: Specialist Cladding & Roofing Contractor

Start Date: ASAP

Health & Safety Manager – The Company:

Our client is a leading Tier 1 specialist Cladding & Roofing contractor working with leading Tier 1 main contractors on large flagship new build major projects. The business has a loyal and robust client base and is experiencing a period of growth – looking to expand.

Health & Safety Manager – The Role:
  • A fantastic opportunity for an experienced senior Health & Safety Manager to be based on Hinkley Point overseeing site H&S.
  • Promote health, safety, environment and quality to all staff, contractors and business partners so that it becomes a part of our day to day business and supports the realisation of our commitments.
  • Influence and deliver training, communication and engagement programmes in regard to HSEQ vision and strategies.
  • Be the subject matter expert supporting the business to achieve its commitments including accreditation to ISO and equivalent standards across the business.
  • Lead & Direct the Behavioural Based Safety Improvement Programme.
  • Lead & direct site SHEQ planning to satisfy the client base and operational spheres of activity.
  • Ensure Monthly Briefings are produced, delivered and recorded.
  • Projects SHEQ expert and owner of risk management strategies, proactive planning and engagement, to create a culture of HSEQ compliance.
  • Client facing role.
Health & Safety Manager – Experience Required:
  • NEBOSH Diploma desirable/working towards, but minimum of NEBOSH General Certificate or NEBOSH in Construction.
  • Minimum 5 years Construction experience essential.
  • Cladding/Roofing Experience highly beneficial.
  • Knowledge & understanding of construction industry standards.
  • Worked at a level of influence with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to deliver high level, high impact presentations effectively and report writing.
  • Change management and problem-solving capabilities.
