Naylor's Equestrian Llp is seeking a Health and Safety Manager to develop, implement and monitor policies across the organisation and projects, ensuring compliance with UK legislation and promoting a safe working environment.

The role drives best practice in a fast-paced setting, supports ISO 45001, CDM and PUWER compliance, and delivers H&S training. Office and site-based work with a focus on continuous improvement.

Qualifications

  • NEBOSH Diploma is required.
  • DGA (Dangerous Goods Qualifications) is required.
  • CertIOSH status or working towards is desirable.
  • CMSE qualification is desirable.
  • Experience within an ISO 45001 framework is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Build strong working relationships with stakeholders, providing daily guidance on H&S matters.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain the organisation’s H&S management system.
  • Maintain ISO 45001 accreditation and ensure ongoing compliance.
  • Ensure compliance with Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 and related regulations.
  • Monitor and review H&S policies to promote continuous improvement.
  • Provide professional advice on H&S matters to management and staff.
  • Analyse incident trends and support risk reduction initiatives.
  • Develop, deliver, and monitor H&S training programmes.
  • Promote a positive safety culture and engage employees in safety initiatives.
  • Ensure contractors are competent and aware of responsibilities.
  • Maintain H&S documentation, records, and reports.
  • Manage contractor safety including pre-qualification and performance monitoring.
  • Support CDM requirements where applicable.
  • Lead H&S projects from concept to implementation and review.
  • Provide guidance on dangerous goods management and compliance.

Health and Safety – Manager

Role Overview:

To develop, implement, and monitor health and safety policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and promoting a safe working environment across the organisation and ongoing project. The role will drive best practice and continuous improvement within a rapidly expanding, fast-paced environment.

Key Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Build strong working relationships with key stakeholders, providing daily support, guidance, and practical advice on health and safety matters.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain the organisation’s Health & Safety (H&S) management system.
  • Maintain ISO 45001 accreditation and ensure ongoing compliance.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation, including the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 and associated regulations.
  • Monitor and review H&S policies, procedures, and systems to promote continuous improvement.
  • Provide professional advice and guidance to management and employees on all H&S matters.
  • Analyse incident trends and support improvement initiatives to reduce risk.
  • Develop, deliver, and monitor H&S training programmes.
  • Promote a positive safety culture and encourage employee engagement in safety initiatives.
  • Ensure employees and contractors are competent and fully aware of their responsibilities.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date H&S documentation, records, and reports.
  • Manage contractor safety, including pre-qualification, onboarding, and performance monitoring.
  • Ensure compliance with PUWER and demonstrate competence in machinery and automation safety.
  • Support and manage CDM (Construction Design and Management) requirements where applicable.
  • Management H&S projects from concept through to implementation through to review
  • Provide guidance on dangerous goods management and compliance.
  • Undertake any additional duties as reasonably requested by the Head of Health & Safety Manager.

Qualifications

  • NEBOSH Diploma (required)
  • CertIOSH status or working towards (desirable)
  • Dangerous goods qualifications (DGA) (required)
  • Certified Machinery Safety Expert CMSE (desirable)

Experience

  • Proven experience working within an ISO 45001 framework
  • Experience in audits, risk assessments, and incident investigations
  • Demonstrable experience in CDM management
  • Knowledge of automation safety, PUWER regulations, and dangerous goods management
  • Conducting PUWER assessments

Working Conditions

  • Office and site-based role
  • Monday – Friday – 40 Hours a week
  • Flexibility to undertake occasional late shifts to support night operations, including audits and inspections
  • Available for on-call support
