Job summary

AWD online is seeking a Health and Safety Manager to lead safety strategy across multiple group companies with nationwide site travel. NEBOSH-qualified professionals with construction/factory knowledge are preferred to influence culture and compliance.

The role focuses on shaping strategy, systems, and culture to ensure ISO 45001 certification and strong legislative compliance across sites and facilities.

Qualifications

• Previous health and safety experience at a similar level.
• Experience within a construction or factory environment.
• NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent in general health and safety or construction.
• Knowledge and experience of the large-scale construction industry, CDM and working at height.
• Safety-first mindset and enthusiasm for doing the right thing.
• Strong communication and influencing skills.
• Competent IT skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement and communicate company H&S strategy across all Group companies to improve safety performance.
• Develop, deliver and maintain H&S policies and procedures to support operations and compliance with relevant UK legislation and guidance.
• Monitor, review and develop H&S management systems and maintain ISO 45001 certification across Group companies.
• Lead H&S meetings, share best practice and lessons learnt, and manage the H&S team in support of company strategy.
• Lead accident and incident investigations and progress resulting recommendations.
• Provide guidance on safe systems of work, risk assessments, COSHH assessments and legislative compliance.
• Conduct H&S inspections to monitor compliance with procedures, legislation and guidance.
• Build relationships with client and subcontractor contacts and engage with their H&S strategies and programmes as required.
• Develop and promote a positive H&S culture across Group organisations.

JOB OVERVIEW

An excellent opportunity offers broad influence over safety performance across a multi-company, nationwide operation. Working closely with senior leaders, clients and subcontractors, the Health and Safety Manager will shape strategy, systems and culture across sites and factory environments.

The Health and Safety Manager will lead the H&S team, guide all organisational levels and strengthen consistent legislative compliance.

With direct exposure to senior leadership and nationwide operations, the Health and Safety Manager will help embed best practice and maintain ISO 45001 certification.

DUTIES

Your duties as the Health and Safety Manager include:

• H&S Strategy: Develop, implement and communicate company H&S strategy across all Group companies to improve safety performance
• Policies and Procedures: Develop, deliver and maintain H&S policies and procedures to support operations and compliance with relevant UK legislation and guidance
• Management Systems: Monitor, review and develop H&S management systems and maintain ISO 45001 certification across Group companies
