Job description

Allen & York are delighted to be working with Maldon Salt to assist in the appointment of a Health & Safety Manager for the business. Maldon Salt is a fourth-generation family-owned business producing pyramid artisan salt since 1882 using traditional hand-crafted methods that have served the culinary market in the UK and globally.

This is a new role within the company, situated within the QSE department, reporting to the QSE Manager. The role involves supporting, advising, and ensuring compliance across all operations in the Maldon region.

The position is hands-on, working closely with manufacturing, distribution, and packaging teams. The successful candidate will influence improvements and promote positive behavior change, acting as the technical expert for safety documentation, managing contractors, conducting inductions, audits, risk assessments, and supporting departmental activities.

Candidates should have experience in Health & Safety within an FMCG or manufacturing environment, with skills in installing and auditing management systems, and the ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders.

A strong work ethic, collaborative attitude, and a proactive approach to high standards and continuous improvement are essential. NEBOSH qualification, ideally a Diploma, is preferred, along with a valid driving license.
