Overview
Health & Safety Manager | Central London | Construction Fit Out. Based in Central London with regular travel across the South East, you will play a pivotal role in promoting safe working practices across multiple sites, driving compliance, engaging teams, and maintaining high standards of health & safety at all times.
Responsibilities
- Carry out regular site inspections and audits to ensure compliance with health & safety legislation, company standards, and industry best practice.
- Review a sample of contractor risk assessments and method statements (RAMS) for suitability and effectiveness.
- Investigate incidents and near misses, producing detailed reports with clear corrective and preventative actions.
- Maintain accurate records of inspections, incidents, and training activities.
- Work closely with site managers, subcontractors, and clients to foster a strong health & safety culture.
- Support the H&S team with data collection, KPI monitoring, and trend analysis.
- Assist in the delivery of training sessions and health & safety presentations.
- Provide ad-hoc out-of-hours and weekend support when required.
- Contribute to the review and updating of H&S documentation, policies, and procedures.
- Support the retention of key company accreditations including ISO 45001, RoSPA, Constructionline Platinum, Once For All SSIP, and SafeContractor SSIP.
Qualifications
- NEBOSH National Certificate in Construction Health and Safety
- Technical Membership of IOSH (Tech IOSH)
- SMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme)
- First Aid at Work Certification
- Full UK Driving Licence and access to your own vehicle
- Up to 3 years' experience in the construction industry, ideally within interior fit-out projects
