Tate & Lyle Sugars in London’s Thames Refinery seeks a Health & Safety Manager who can inspire, influence, and elevate safety performance across the site. This is a high‑impact role where your voice matters and your leadership shapes the culture of a major UK industrial operation.

You will lead a site‑wide safety vision, audits, behavioural safety programmes, investigations, and contractor management, working with operations, commercial teams and global EHS networks to embed group standards

What you’ll lead

• A site ‑ wide safety vision that aligns with our global H&S ambitions.
• Maintain a robust auditing system to ensure risks are controlled and improvement areas identified.
• Behavioural safety programmes that genuinely shift mindsets.
• High ‑ quality investigations, audits, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Fire protection, contractor management, and compliance across a complex industrial and port ‑ based environment.
• Engagement across departments, functions, and global EHS networks.

Cross – Functional Leadership

• Support Plaistow site during absences or incidents.
• Build strong partnerships across operations, commercial teams, and global EHS networks.
• Provide regular safety performance reports to regional and corporate EHS leaders.
• Ensure group standards are embedded locally.
• Collaborate with the Environment Manager—covering each other when needed.
