Health & Safety Manager

Glasgow

Full Time, Permanent

Up to £45,000 + company car

Pertemps are delighted to be supporting an award-winning Glasgow based business who are looking to add a Health and Safety Manager to their growing team. This role is based in the Head Office with regular travel to other offices across the UK. This role will report into the Operations Director and you will be pivotal in supporting growth of the team. Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for driving a safety-first culture across the business.
  • Lead on the delivery of our environmental strategy across the business.
  • Be capable of advising on best practice and trends to keep practice up to date and future proof.
  • Maintain and manage health and safety polices, safety training and document control systems.
  • Maintain, update, and create standard operating procedures and assist in the implementation of continuous improvement safety projects.
  • Conduct internal auditing.
  • Complete regular reviews of risk assessments for all work equipment and operations.
  • Ensure that all accidents are documented, investigated, and that recommended improvements are actioned.
  • Conduct safety inspections and ensure that fire drills and fire alarms are correctly reported.
  • Ensure that risk assessments and lone working procedures are managed, and employees are aware of their responsibilities.
  • Conduct on site safety inspections, risk assessments, and ensure that PPE and lone working procedures are managed, and employees are aware of their responsibilities.
  • Accountable for developing and implementing the business health and safety strategy in collaboration with the wider operations team.
  • Accountable for 100% compliance with health and safety legislation.
  • Accountable for ensuring that employees are appropriately trained against Health & Safety and environment practices, in addition to sourcing and co-ordinating training such as first aid, fire marshal, managing safely and manual handling.
  • Responsible for conducting night-time site visits to ensure wellbeing and safety of Security Guards – vehicle provided.
  • Responsible for conducting day-time site visits to ensure wellbeing and safety of Engineers – vehicle provided.

Candidate Requirements:

  • NEBOSH Certification (essential).
  • Proven experience in Health, Safety, Environmental, and Quality Management.
  • Experience with ISO standards (9001, 14001, 45001).
  • Strong communicator, proactive, and able to build effective relationships with internal teams and clients.
  • Must hold a valid UK Driving Licence
  • A passion for environmental sustainability and continuous improvement.
