Job description

  • Being responsible for the preparation of all corporate risk assessments, reporting annually to the Executive for the endorsement of the assessment findings
  • Ensuring that control systems are continuously monitored, inspected, and audited to provide assurance to the educational provider and the Executive Corporation board that health and safety compliance is effective and sustainable
  • Implementing a corporate risk register and risk management plan and to manage the development, implementation and compliance of health and safety corporate standards
  • Installing an annual schedule of internal health & safety audits and inspections across all departments, produce written reports on remedial actions and ensuring practical, cost-effective solutions
  • Working in proximity with the Group Director of Estates and Facilities to ensure that the risks associated with all capital building projects are minimised; and to attend project and site meetings to ensure compliance
  • Ensuring that all line managers, senior management team, Executive and Corporation members are provided with professional advice, guidance and training relating to health and safety legislation and guidance

The successful candidate should have:

  • Qualified with a NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent
  • A member of a recognised professional health and safety institute
  • Experience working in a similar position within a commercial or public setting
