Role title: Health & Safety Manager (Multi Site)

Salary: £41,000 per annum

Hours: Monday to Friday 8:30am-5:00pm

Location: BCA Thurleigh (Role will cover both of our Fleet Operation sites at Thurleigh)

We are seeking a Health & Safety Manager to oversee our two busy BCA Thurleigh sites. Reporting to the General Managers, you will support site management on all health, safety, and facilities matters, ensuring compliance with BCA UK policies.

Your responsibilities include:

  1. Embedding a culture of high standards in health, safety, and facilities management.
  2. Conducting risk assessments and implementing necessary measures.
  3. Performing safety inspections and ensuring remedial actions are taken.
  4. Resolving complex issues and escalating when necessary.
  5. Ensuring first aid and welfare facilities are adequate.
  6. Investigating serious incidents and recommending procedural changes.
  7. Providing safety performance reports.
  8. Assisting with health and safety projects.
  9. Leading safety and facilities meetings.
  10. Collaborating with site management to promote a safe working environment.
  11. Developing risk mitigation and governance strategies.

Candidate requirements include:

  1. Proven experience in a similar role.
  2. IOSH certification or equivalent.
  3. Understanding of lean practices (5S, root cause analysis, 5 whys).
  4. Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams.
  5. Ability to write clear risk assessments.
  6. Effective communication skills, especially with non-native English speakers.
  7. Persuasion and influencing skills.
  8. Strong decision-making and resource management abilities.
  9. Motivational skills and a drive for continuous improvement.
  10. Knowledge of risk management and compliance.
