5 days on site most weeks with flexibility as needed

Salary: £52,782 to £65,420 per annum (experience dependent) plus 12.5% employer pension contribution and private medical insurance.

Security Clearance Required: You would be required to undergo DV level security clearance once in role.

Summary

You’ll be a key part of the NCC’s Health & Safety team, focusing on the development, delivery, and ongoing safety management of a new facility aligned with NCC’s growth strategy. You will role model our H&S culture, managing the execution of strategy and delivery of plans in all areas of Health and Safety at NCC.

You’ll collaborate with the Estates Director and other H&S Managers to develop and embed effective systems, policies, and practices ensuring compliance with Health & Safety laws, legal requirements, and ISO Standards. Key relationships include NCC leadership, partners, external regulators, other catapult businesses, and internal customers.

Acting as an expert and partner with stakeholders, you will advise and lead the transformation of NCC’s safety culture from merely compliant to excelling.

Examples of specific activities
  • Ensure Compliance: Maintain adherence to all Health & Safety regulations and certification requirements, including ISO 45001.
  • Leadership in Health & Safety: Oversee and drive continuous improvement in practices affecting business and workshop processes.
  • Producing regular performance reports.
  • Team Development: Lead and develop the team.
  • Conduct internal audits & inspections.
  • Establish a Health & Safety Committee with key stakeholders to foster innovation while maintaining high safety standards.
  • Support emergency response practices.
  • Develop and review H&S policies and procedures, identifying areas for improvement based on lessons learned and evolving practices.
  • Lead investigations into incidents and accidents, collaborating with HR and Engineering, reporting findings, and implementing risk mitigation measures.
