Are you a passionate Health and Safety Manager with previous experience in the construction industry?

We are working with a well-established regional civils contractor who deals with a wide range of projects.

Due to someone retiring, they are currently looking for an experienced Health and Safety Manager to join their team.

About the role of Health and Safety Manager

You will see yourself reporting to the Operations Directors and Contracts Director managing the company's health and safety requirements. Providing expertise and direction ensuring the continuous improvement to SHEQ performance and promoting a positive SHEQ culture.

Responsibilities & Requirements for Health and Safety Manager
  • An understanding of the requirements of BS EN ISO's and experience in facilitating registration surveillance visits.
  • A working knowledge of current and impending health & safety legislation.
  • Good presentation, written, analytical and IT skills.
  • Training and presentation experience throughout all levels of an organisation.
  • Good interpersonal skills with the ability to guide and educate/train at all levels.
  • Self-confidence to build strong working relationships internally and externally.
  • Demonstrable achievement in a similar role.
  • Specific Knowledge and/or Civils Qualifications/Expertise.
  • Review of Company RAMS and compiling Construction Plans and RAMS site specific.
  • Monitor and arrange safety training of personnel.
  • CDM appreciation / duties of the Principal Contractor.
  • General NEBOSH certificate.
  • CSCS Card.
  • A qualified internal health & safety auditor with demonstrable experience of completing internal audits.
  • Lead Auditor status beneficial but not essential.
