Job summary

Sigmar Recruitment is seeking a Health & Safety Manager for the Dromore Area in residential construction. You will own all health and safety activities across multiple projects, working hands-on with site teams and senior management to foster a strong safety culture and ensure legislative compliance.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of Health & Safety experience in construction.
• NEBOSH National General Certificate or equivalent (required).
• Strong knowledge of UK H&S legislation.
• Experience conducting site audits, inspections, and incident investigations.
• Background in residential construction or housebuilding.
• Ability to influence stakeholders and promote best practice.
• Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel between sites.

Responsibilities

• Lead delivery of the Health & Safety strategy and objectives.
• Promote a proactive safety culture across construction sites.
• Ensure compliance with Health & Safety legislation and industry best practice.
• Conduct site inspections, audits, risk assessments, and compliance reviews.
• Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses; implement preventative actions.
• Support and advise site managers, supervisors, subcontractors, and employees on H&S matters.
• Oversee safe management of construction plant and equipment.
• Drive continuous improvement within the H&S Management System.

Are you an experienced Health & Safety professional with a background in construction who is passionate about creating safe, compliant, and high-performing working environments?

We are recruiting a Health & Safety Manager to take ownership of all health and safety activities across a growing residential construction operation. This is a hands-on position where you'll work closely with site teams and senior management to develop a strong safety culture, ensure legislative compliance, and drive continuous improvement across multiple projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the delivery of the company's Health & Safety strategy and objectives
• Promote a proactive safety culture across construction sites and operational areas
• Ensure compliance with all relevant Health & Safety legislation and industry best practice
• Conduct site inspections, audits, risk assessments, and compliance reviews
• Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses, implementing preventative actions
• Support and advise site managers, supervisors, subcontractors, and employees on H&S matters
• Oversee the safe management, maintenance, servicing, and compliance of construction plant and equipment
• Drive continuous improvement within the Health & Safety Management System

Requirements

• NEBOSH National General Certificate or equivalent
• Minimum 5 years' Health & Safety experience within construction
• Strong knowledge of UK Health & Safety legislation and construction industry requirements
• Experience conducting site audits, inspections, and incident investigations
• Background within residential construction, housebuilding, or a similar environment
• Ability to influence stakeholders at all levels and promote best practice
• Strong organisational and communication skills
• Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel between sites
