Your Role...

The Earth & Environment Business Unit in the UK and Ireland, comprising over 1,500 employees, handles diverse projects in sectors like mining, ecology, tunnelling, geotechnical and environmental investigations, and more. We prioritize health and safety, recognizing its importance for business success and societal benefit.

We seek an experienced H&S practitioner to lead and support health and safety initiatives across our operations. This role involves collaborating with various teams, regulatory bodies, and partners to enhance safety standards and culture. Reporting to the E&E Operations Director, you will manage two H&S Business Partners and an H&S Advisor.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide strategic H&S leadership and support across business activities, including strategy, bid support, project guidance, and training.
• Coordinate with operational leaders and stakeholders to promote safety and health standards.
• Monitor, report, and analyze H&S performance data and KPIs.
• Investigate incidents, manage safety forums, and ensure compliance through audits.
• Develop safety policies and communicate safety initiatives effectively.
• Advocate for a proactive safety culture and continuous improvement.
• Stay updated on UK and Ireland H&S legislation and best practices.
