Job description

VANRATH are working in partnership with a globally recognised manufacturing leader to recruit a Health, Safety & Environmental Officer. This is an exciting opportunity for an HSE professional to join a business that places strong emphasis on staff development, innovation, and continuous improvement.

This full-time role is based in Omagh, operating Monday to Friday, within a collaborative and supportive team environment.

Key Duties & Responsibilities
  • Ensure full alignment with company HSE standards and ensure site operations comply with all relevant environmental and safety regulations.

  • Monitor and report HSE performance metrics and contribute to site-level reporting and audits.

  • Facilitate and lead internal safety forums and cross-functional HSE meetings.

  • Support the incident and claims process, including coordination with relevant teams and documentation.

  • Maintain and update safety protocols, risk assessments, and environmental practices regularly.

  • Play an active role in improvement projects linked to workplace safety and sustainability.

  • Conduct detailed investigations into near misses, accidents, and environmental events, producing actionable recommendations.

  • Serve as a liaison for external agencies and support insurance, occupational health, and regulatory engagement.

  • Assess site training needs and deliver relevant health, safety, and environmental training sessions.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional departments (e.g. engineering, logistics, operations) to embed safe practices and support risk-reduction initiatives.

What You'll Need to Succeed
  • A NEBOSH General Certificate (or equivalent) in Occupational Health & Safety.

  • Experience in a similar safety/environmental role within manufacturing or industrial settings.

  • Up-to-date understanding of HSE legislation and compliance requirements.

  • Familiarity with risk assessments, COSHH, RIDDOR, and ergonomic evaluations (e.g. DSE assessments).
