Health, Safety & Environmental Advisor

Inspire are recruiting a Health, Safety & Environmental Advisor to work for a progressive Chesterfield based business.

This is an excellent opportunity for those that enjoy delivering training, best practice, conducting audits and being an ambassador for safety.

Duties to include:

Assist in the implementation and maintenance of the Health and Safety Management System.

Promote a positive health and safety culture across the organisation.

Support in the development, review, and improvement of HSE policies and practices.

Conduct health and safety audits and report findings to the HSE Manager.

Provide expert advice and guidance across all departments to ensure HSE compliance.

Ensure all risk assessments are suitable and legally compliant.

Support departments in developing safe systems of work.

Take appropriate action in response to unsafe practices and report major breaches.

Maintain and manage the HSE Management System and data reporting tools.

Produce and present HSE reports and performance data to senior stakeholders.

Represent the HSE Team in internal and external meetings.

Monitor incidents, accidents, and near misses, and compile related performance information.

Conduct and support accident investigations involving staff and customers.

Deliver HSE training as needed.

Deputise for the HSE Manager during periods of absence, where applicable.

Keep abreast of legislative changes relevant to HSE.

Undertake any other duties commensurate with the grading of the post.

Essential Experience

Previous experience in a Health & Safety role.

Experience with environmental compliance.

Skilled in risk assessments and implementing control measures.

Ability to work independently.

Knowledge of construction sites and CDM regulations.

Experience in accident investigations.

Qualifications and Training

NEBOSH General Certificate in Occupational Safety and Health.

IEMA Certificate in Environmental Management

(or willingness to obtain) .

Recognised Audit qualification

(or willingness to obtain) .

Strong presentation and training delivery skills.
