Job description

Bombardier’s Business Aircraft London Service Centre in Biggin Hill is part of an award-winning network and is the flagship of Bombardier’s European operation. This Base and Line Maintenance Centre is the fastest-growing Service Centre in Europe and the largest Business Aircraft OEM in the UK. The facility has the capabilities to perform an array of maintenance checks, modifications and upgrades all from this site. Only 14 miles from London, Bombardier’s Biggin Hill Service Centre is ideally located to support operators in the UK region and beyond.

You will play a key role in providing professional facilities, health and safety and environmental management.

You should possess a collaborative work style, be well organized, coordinate, organize and promote Safety Activities and Campaigns to raise safety awareness on site. You will function independently and report directly to the Accountable Manager.

ENVIRONMENT, HEALTH & SAFETY
  • You are responsible for maintaining a safe, tidy, secure and professional working environment whilst ensuring required standards of EHS are met.
  • Administer and develop Emergency Response Plan.
  • Promote and inculcate continuous improvement to the safety work culture within the Company.
  • Participate in hazard analysis and risk assessments to identify, evaluate and control all hazards and risks associated with business activities.
  • Ensure compliance to EHS regulations.
  • Ensure compliance to National, Local and Airport Environmental regulations.
  • Work with site senior management to assist in day-to-day ESH activities.
  • Responsible for contractors’ management, new business, renewals and compliance to EHS Regulations.
  • You will develop and implement an EHS audit, in order to monitor compliance with all applicable standards, among which Part-145.
  • Oversee the review and approval of hazardous work permits (i.e. Confined space etc).
FACILITIES MANAGEMENT
  • Advise, plan and coordinate site-related projects with management.
  • Coordinate contractor site visits in an effective & efficient manner.
  • Ensure all facilities’ maintenance schedules are fully complied with, at agreed levels.
  • Perform any other duties within your capabilities as directed by the Company.
  • Ensure provision and analysis of energy monitoring data and action plans to ensure utilization of energy sources optimized.
  • Develop and maintain energy strategy that meets evolving legislative, environmental and cost demands.
  • Oversee external contract base covering hard (mechanical, electrical, building) and soft (cleaning, waste management) services.
  • You will perform other duties as assigned.
ADDITIONAL DUTIES
  • Ensure staff is trained in new/revised company procedures.
  • Ensure the Management Review is prepared based on analyzed trends.
As our ideal candidate,
  • IOSH/NEBOSH Qualified.
  • Previous experience in managing ESH.
  • Self-motivated, enthusiastic and capable of working to own and company set targets.
  • Proficient in the use of all MS Office programs.
  • You have thorough knowledge of Environmental, Health & Safety rules, Human Factors, Human performance/-limitations, and regulations as they apply to safety and environmental aspects of aircraft maintenance operations.
  • You have interpersonal skills necessary to develop and maintain effective communication with employees, customers, and all levels of management.
  • You have presentation skills necessary to effectively communicate, update, persuade, and/or facilitate discussions and training.
  • You possess research and analytical skills necessary to collect, analyze, and interpret the quality management system processes, and survey data, among which customer satisfaction surveys.
  • You have working knowledge of non-UK CAA regulations applicable to the organization such as FAA, EASA, Bermuda CAA, Cayman Islands CAA.
  • EHS management, minimum 5 years (required).
