Job Description:

We have a fantastic opportunity for a Safety, Health & Environment Advisor to join our Riverside Bakery Team in Nottingham.

The SHE advisor supports the SHE manager in implementing the site SHE management system. This hands-on role focuses on preventing work-related illnesses and injuries. The ability to engage and influence at all levels is essential. The advisor will act as the site competent person when the SHE manager is absent.

Key Duties:

  • Support the reduction of health, safety & environment risks and hazards across the site.
  • Assist the site in achieving legal compliance.
  • Deliver appropriate H&S training.
  • Conduct workplace inspections and audits.
  • Provide general health and safety advice.
  • Implement TCFG Health, Safety & Environment management system.
  • Ensure compliance with reporting and escalation requirements.
  • Manage contractors and visitors.
  • Implement group initiatives and campaigns.
  • Support the SHE Manager in deploying strategies and systems.
  • Perform risk assessments and manage risks.
  • Lead incident investigations and root cause analyses.
  • Maintain accurate records and document control.
  • Investigate unsafe practices and conditions.
  • Update compliance documents.
  • Report violations to relevant stakeholders.
  • Maintain and audit safety-critical procedures.
  • Perform governance tasks as per the management system.
  • Maintain SHE competency levels.
  • Deputise for the SHE Manager when needed.
  • Liaise with enforcing authorities.

Experience:

  • Level 6 H&S qualification and Environmental qualification.
  • At least 5 years in a similar role with good knowledge of specific work tasks.
  • Experience with environmental standards and BS ISO 45001 (OHSMS).
