Health & Safety Coordinator

Health & Safety Coordinator - Burntwood

A great opportunity to join a leading global manufacturer as their new Health & Safety Coordinator.

The Role

  • As Health & Safety Coordinator, you will ensure compliance with Health and Safety policy and procedures by helping to develop and implement H&S strategies and meet legislative and legal standards.
  • Your focus will be on minimising risk, maximising awareness and achieving first class safety performance.
  • You will support the compliance of the ISO14001 Environmental Management System, by ensuring that NCRs and recommendations are communicated and followed up on.
  • Conducting Internal Audits.
  • Managing and completing external audits.
  • Managing day to day health and safety procedures.
  • Managing Waste & Packaging Streams and Authorising bodies.
  • Incident Control, including completed investigations.
  • Produce and present monthly Toolbox Talks.
  • Conduct Accident and Incident reporting and investigation.
  • Organise regular HSE meetings.
  • Ensure risk assessments/safe systems of work are complete and requirements are met.

The Candidate

  • Experience working as a Health & Safety Coordinator, or in a similar role, preferably within a manufacturing environment.
  • IOSH Managing Safely qualification.
  • COSHH/REACH knowledge in previous employment would be beneficial.
  • Excellent knowledge of H&S in the workplace, including relevant legislation, risk assessments, accident and incident investigation, environmental legislation.
  • Strong problem solving ability, someone who looks for solutions.
  • Self-Motivated.
  • Good at building relationships with internal & external customers.
  • Organised and proactive with excellent communication skills.
  • Responsible, accountable, takes ownership.
