Overview

Job Specification - Health & Safety Process Consultant (Contract)

Location: Grays, Thurrock
Contract: Short-term (project-based)

Responsibilities

• Review current health & safety practices, paperwork, and compliance status.
• Develop and implement:
• Method Statements and Risk Assessments (RAMS)
• Safe Systems of Work (SSOW)
• Control Plans and supporting documentation
• Introduce and document simple, effective processes to ensure ongoing compliance.
• Train and guide managers and staff on new processes, ensuring smooth handover.
• Conduct audits and checks to ensure everything is fit for purpose before project completion.

Requirements

• Proven experience in setting up and embedding health & safety processes in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
• Process and Production engineering is essential
• Strong understanding of UK health & safety compliance requirements.
• Hands-on experience creating documentation and systems that are practical and easy to follow.
• Ability to work independently, deliver results quickly, and hand over effectively.

Contract Details

• Location: On-site in Grays, Thurrock (some flexibility may be considered).
• Duration: Short-term contract (expected 3-6 months or until project completion).
• Remuneration: Day rate or fixed project fee (dependent on experience).
