We bring quality, safety, and efficiency to public sector construction projects. This role is an opportunity to work on a major upgrade project for one of the UK’s leading hospitals.

Role Overview:

We are seeking an experienced CDM Principal Designer to join our team, ideally from an architecture or engineering background. The successful candidate will have a minimum of 5 years’ experience and will play a key role in ensuring compliance with the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015, the Building Safety Act 2022, and Higher-Risk Building (HRB) Regulations. This as site based role at Manchester Royal Infirmary.

Key Requirements:

• Minimum 5 years’ professional experience in a relevant design or construction discipline
• Strong working knowledge of CDM Regulations 2015 and Building Safety Act 2022 (including HRB Regulations)
• NEBOSH Health and safety management for construction
• Proven experience acting as Principal Designer on complex construction or refurbishment projects
• Certified Member of the Association for Project Safety (CMaPS) or MCABE (Chartered Member of CABE)
• Previous experience working within a hospital or healthcare environment is essential
• Strong communication, coordination, and regulatory compliance skills
• Ability to lead design risk management and safety planning during the pre-construction and construction phases

Desirable:

• Degree in Architecture, Building Services Engineering, or Facilities Management
• Experience working in multidisciplinary teams and coordinating across design and construction stakeholders
• Proficiency in digital collaboration tools (e.g. CDEs, BIM platforms).
